Today wildfires are scouring San Diego County. It is no challenge to connect this to global climate change, although there are still idiots on the right who claim that global climate change is a myth. Let’s face it, there are idiots on the right, but also idiots on the left. However, the scales of consciousness tip in favor of the left. On top of all the radical weather patterns of the recent past, we are now faced with good science that tells us that we are in a feedback loop that is melting polar ice.

I am reminded of a line from the classic vintage rock album by Spirit, Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. “It’s nature’s way of telling you something’s wrong.” Or if we really want to be extreme, The Matrix, “Humans are a virus.” When people crusade to “save the planet,” what they really mean is, preserve the planet’s ability to sustain human life. Would Mother Nature really miss us if we were gone?
